Environment Canada says a tornado warning has ended for Barrie, Collingwood, Hillsdale, Midland, Coldwater and Orr Lake, Ontario, although a severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for these areas, as well as for Orillia, Lagoon City and Washago
According to the Federal Meteorological Agency, a line of strong to severe thunderstorms is moving east through or towards the regions
« Damaging gusts of wind, brief torrential downpours, frequent lightning between cloud and ground, and large hail will also be associated with some of these storms, » Environment Canada said
In parts of the region, people have posted reports on social media of hail as large as loons and toonies in the aftermath of the storm

In the event of a tornado, Environment Canada says to go indoors to a room on the ground floor, away from exterior walls and windows, including a basement, bathroom, cage staircase or closet
« Get out of mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers, and other temporary or self-contained shelters, and move to a sturdy building if you can, » the federal weather agency said « As a last resort, lie down in a low place and protect your head from flying debris »
